Ms. Britts received her Bachelor of Arts in music from San Jose State University where she studied both choral conducting and piano performance. She earned her Masters of Arts in Education at California State University, Sacramento. The title of her thesis, "Keep Dancing on the Inside" is a study of the effects of the other arts; theater, dance, literature, and visual art, on the choral performance.
A nationally sought after festival director and music workshop clinician, Ms. Britts has provided workshops for organizations, American Choral Directors Association, American Guild of Organists, Choral Conductors Guild and Choristers Guild. Currently she is serving on the Board of Directors for Choristers Guild as President-elect. Ms Britts is on the faculty of the music department at California State University, Sacramento.
Ms. Britts brings a passion for both music and for children to everything she does. Her lifelong goal is to unlock the world of music for children to experience, understand and enjoy. The avenue used is choral music - a combination of the classics with contemporary, Broadway, jazz, and pop. This eclectic approach gives the singers the foundation of good singing combined with the appeal of different styles for both audience and performer.
