SUMMER CAMPS

SUMMER SING

2 - 5 GRADES

July 30-Aug 3

Our Summer Sing! theme this year is Musical Adventures around the World. Our mornings are filled with singing, crafts, snacks, and musical activities that center on the country of the day. Boys and girls entering grades 2–5 are invited to join us. No experience necessary. Those with NCCC experience will continue to grow in their music skills and new singers will start on the adventure of being a musician.

Each day begins with an introduction of the country of the day with national songs. Through the morning singers will sing, do a craft centered on the country of the day and even have a snack native to that country. At the end of the week the singers present a craft show and concert for family and friends.

Registration is limited so register soon for this amazing week. Artistic Director , Judy Britts is the teacher with assistance from craft and recreation leaders. Register today!

VOCAL CAMP

6 - 12 GRADES

July 30-Aug 3

Attention 6th grade through high school singers. Let’s spend a week of afternoons sharpening music reading skills, sight-reading, breath control and vocal technique.

The afternoon starts with singing and vocal technique using some contemporary pieces arranged for choral groups, (think Pentatonix). Singers will be grouped according to skill level for music theory and sight-reading. The goal is for newcomers to gain a basic understanding of rhythm and melody while the more experienced singer advances rhythmic and melodic sight-reading skills.

The idea for this camp is to prepare all singers, NCCC members or not, for a terrific year in their choir. Also, for those wanting to audition for the 2019 ACDA National Honor Choir, it will heighten your skills in preparation for the auditions this fall.

We welcome all singers, guys and gals, unchanged, changing, or changed voices to this week of skill building. We will present a short recital for family and friends pieces we learned and even show off some new found skills. The teacher for the week is Artistic Director, Judy Britts. All materials and music are covered in the tuition.

To be able to fully prepare for this week, Mrs. Britts has asked that registration close on July 15th.
