Bel Canto
Advanced Level (Grades 5-8)
As the advanced children’s choir, Bel Canto is the showcase choir that performs around the community, performs with other choral groups, and is challenged with some rather difficult music for their ages. We have a theory program that all singers participate in as it improves their sight-reading abilities and increases their understanding of the music in front of them. About five times a year Bel Canto meets on Saturday for a theory workshop.

In the Fall, Bel Canto takes a week-end retreat in Nevada City, CA. The purpose is to get a good start on the music for the year, to give the singers a chance to get to know one another, and a chance for all to enjoy the beautiful outdoors while making beautiful music.

Bel Canto is a touring choir. Although not mandatory, we highly recommend participating as it will be a life time memory and even life changing event for your singer. The summer of 2019, Bel Canto has been selected to participate in the Pacific International Choral Festival at the University of Oregon, Eugene. In the summer of 2023, Bel Canto has traveled to Austria and Prague.
